PAC Rugby Camp Summer 2010
PAC rugby camps focus on enjoyment and learning in a safe and stimulating environment.
In previous years PAC rugby camps have been run in conjunction with Peebles Rugby Club and Biggar Rugby Club and are led by qualified rugby coaches.
For 2010 we are currently exploring a number of options to make sure that this year’s Rugby Camp will be as fun and enjoyable as ever.
Our coaching team use ‘tag’ and ‘mini’ rugby rather than 'full contact' rugby to develop skills and techniques. The focus is, of course, on enjoying and learning about rugby, where the emphasis is on the key areas of running, handling, and positional skills. There are some added opportunities to develop and practice defensive skills in e.g. tackling using tackle bags, 'slow-mo' tackle positioning etc.
Most of the learning is put into practice via a variety of interesting skills development games. There is also the opportunity to apply skills in small sided/ same age games.
Due to the age ranges and mixed abilities at the camp, children will be divided according to age to lessen the risk of injury and ensure that every child has the best chance to learn and develop their rugby skills and knowledge in an enjoyable and stimulating environment.
PAC Rugby Camps are open to boys and girls, and will be suitable for both complete novices and children who already play rugby.
A 5% discount is applicable for family group bookings. This discount is also available to Royal Bank of Scotland and Standard Life employees.
